Hi, if first like to say your cosplays are truly remarkable! I was wondering If you have a tutorial on how to make the Loki helmet or if you could suggest were to buy one.. I would really appreciate it as it's the last component for my loki outfit. Many thanks x
Hi, Thanks ^^. unfortunately I don´t have a real tutorial, but I uploaded pictures on my Deviantart-site (Azuho). In short, I made a clay-model and than a silicon mold around it with a hard shell which supports this mold and holds it in shape. The helmet itself is made out of epoxi-resin and fiber-glas-matts. If you like to have a copy of my helmet I can make you one :) .
Loki Cosplay - The Helmet - What I work on tonight
Yep, it’s really what you see on the images. The backside is still a mess and I NEED to do it.
So, as you can see ^^ With my university stuff going on meanwhile, tumblr, Sherlock’s fall and my tablet as references, it works out well XD
XDDDD Any questions?
What’s the helmet made of? I really want to cosplay Lady Loki but I’m not sure how to make the horned helmet and or possibly headband.
Hi, dear chroniclesofthefangirl, I just stumbled over Aeriths post and your question :) . … The helmet is made from epoxy-resin and fiberglas-mats. you can find more picture of the making-process on my tumblr (http://locriel.tumblr.com/) or on my DA-site (http://azuho.deviantart.com/) Aerith was at my home and got herself a testing-copy with her materials out of my mold before she went to Japan ^^.
Hi there! How much are you selling your Loki helmets for? They are glorious and I would love to purchase one!
Hi ^^, thank you very much <3 . A finished version will cost presumably 300 Euro. … I first need to get through with one helmet and test if everything looks and functions the way I want it to XD (f.i. the finish needs to be slightly flexible and not brittle). … But I also offer a rough-cast for 160 Euro and a sanded version for 200 Euro. … I just put all the prizes in my DA-journal :)
Hello, I read a post by mon kishu about the helmets and I'm interested to see for how much are you selling them? ^_^
Hi, I just started about 2 weeks ago to offer rough-casts of the helmet on my DA-site, because I had a lot of requests for rough casts (when I first uploaded a picture of my helmet XD). I haven´t made a finished helmet yet, because there wasn´t a serious request for that so far. … I also tried two colors. A bright, shiny one and a more darker looking, old-brass one. The latter is very hard to sand. It produces a lot of black nasty dust, like smudgy coal from the graphite in it. This kind of dirt is unacceptable. So I offer only the shiny version also as a raugh-cast (160 Euro + shipping extra) ; the darker one only as a finished version (I havn´t calculated the prize for a finished dark or shiny helmet yet, sorry^^°).
(Right now I´m still on vacation, but as soon as I´m home again I´m going to make everything ready and you can look on my DA-page or here for picture-updates and news :3 )
… and sorry for my funny english XD
When the inner cap (which isn´t there yet … so I had to hold it with my hand in place XD) is properly placed inside, it perfectly fits on my head … . To look for you, if it could also fit on your head I´m going to give here my measurements:
-> circumflex: 56,5 cm
-> head width: 15,5 cm
That s what the raw cast will look like when it comes right from the mold. It weighs around 860 g and is already fully in gold (brass). I ll soon upload pictures of other stages and other colors … maybe a little bit darker one : D … and of course the prizes for commissions on the various stages of the helmet.
